ISOCDE partners with Islamic Relief to pack 12000 meal packs for local food banks and domestic need.
Members of ISOCDE volunteered to pack close to 12000 meal packs to be distributed to local food banks and to nearby areas. ISOCDE partnered with Islamic Relief in this noble cause to pack the meal for distribution within Delaware for domestic use. Close to 100 ISOCDE members volunteered in this event.
ISOCDE organized Kids fall festival at a local park.
ISOCDE recreation committee organized the kids fall festival at a local park. Over 100 families attended the event, kids participated in various fall activities during the event. Snacks and refreshment were arranged during the event.
ISOCDE co-hosts a 3 day event on the Seerah of Prophet.
ISOCDE co-hosted a 3 days event with Riwaq Institute and Islamic Society of Delaware on the Seerah of the Prophet. Over 150 community members from Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland attended the event. Speakers from different Masjids and other Islamic Organizations spoke during the event.
ISOCDE members attended the Resolution on Ramadan at the House of Representatives
ISOCDE members joined Delaware Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton as she gave the opening prayer and presented the Resolution on Ramadan at the House of Representatives 152nd General Assembly.
ISOCDE Co-Hosts the second Delaware Legislative Iftar
Islamic Society of Central Delaware co-hosted the second Delaware Legislative Iftar on March 30th 2023 in partnership with Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton and Zakat Foundation of America. The Iftar event was by the Governor John Karney, Attorney General Kathy Jennings, Insurance Commissioner rinidad Navarro, Representatives from Delaware Congress and Senate, Faith Members from Masjids across Delaware and other dignitaries. ISOCDE president Br. Anwar Ibn Khary welcomed the guests, Rep. Madinah Wilson-Aton spoke and introduced the speakers during the event. Members of ISOCDE served dinner for the guests.
ISOCDE Hosts the first ever Delaware Legislative Iftar
Islamic Society of Central Delaware hosted the first ever Delaware Legislative Iftar on April 14th 2022 in partnership with Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton. The Iftar event was attended by Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long, Attorney General Kathy Jennings, Representatives from Delaware Congress and Senate, Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro, Faith Members from Masjids across Delaware State, Representatives from CAIR and other dignitaries in the State of Delaware. ISOCDE Vice-President Sobia Choudri welcomed the guests. Rep. Madinah Wilson-Aton spoke and introduced the speakers during the event. Members of ISOCDE served dinner for the guests. ISOCDE plans to host this event every year.
ISOCDE condemns incident which involved remarks about a Muslim student in a local school.
The Islamic Society Of Central Delaware (ISOCDE) Board condemns the recent incident which involved remarks about a Muslim student in one of our local schools. There is no place for any kind of discriminatory actions or remarks in our community, especially in our schools. We look forward to the corrective actions to be taken by Superintendent Cade and the Capital School District Board.
Delaware's Muslim community strongly condemn the recent attacks on the Jewish centers and stand firm with the Jewish community against hate.

Unfortunately, today once again brings news that demonstrates why we are at a critical junction in our nation's history.
Attacks and attempted attacks on houses of worship have been steadily rising, and this is not acceptable. Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism continue to increase, and that is not acceptable. All Muslims must all stand together to end this and demand change.
The Islamic Society of Delaware strongly condemns the attempted hate crime against the Jewish Centers in Delaware. "An attack on anyone's house of worship is an attack on us all, and we will always stand together with our brothers and sisters in faith," said Shiekh Hadi, Imam of the Islamic Society of Delaware.
Imam Arqum Rashid of the Islamic Society of Central Delaware (Dover Mosque) echoed that sentiment and noted, "As Muslims, we know how attacks against our centers feel. We know too well how it feels to be the target of hatred and prejudice.
We condemn these attacks against the Jewish community centers in Delaware, and without a doubt, Muslims in Delaware will continue to stand with the Jewish community against bigotry and hate."
Members of Lewes Presbyterian Church visited the Islamic Society of Central Delaware Community Center in Felton on 6/09/2017. A group of 15 members visited the ISOCDE center to meet their muslim neighbors and to learn about Islam. The group observed the Friday Sermon delivered by the Imam of ISOCDE. Followed by the sermon, the group met with many of the members of ISOCDE for a Q&A session. ISOCDE was happy host the members of Lewes Presbyterian Church, a new era of friendship was born between both communities.
ISOCDE co-organized Unity Rally with other Islamic organizations in Delaware.
Members of ISOCDE and other Islamic organizations in Delaware organized an Unity Rally before the Legislative Mall in Dover, DE. The unity rally was supported by various religious leaders, State Senators, State Representatives, Governor John Carney, Senators Chris Coons, Tom Carper and several Delawareans. The speakers at the rally reiterated their strong support to the Delaware Muslim Community and rejected hatred against the Muslim Community. The speakers at the rally emphasized the need for all Delawareans to stay united regardless of their faith, color, race and other differences. ISOCDE whole heartedly thanks all those who supported the unity rally and made it great success.
ISOCDE condemns attacks on Synagogue and Jewish Centers.
As a religious group that has been a subject of recent attacks, threats, and bigotry, central Delaware Muslims would like to express our strong condemnation to the recent wave of vandalism and threats targeting Jewish centers. The Islamic Society of Central Delaware members are saddened by these acts of antisemitism that should have no place in our society. We pray for the safety of all and offer our helping hands to our Jewish neighbors
ISOCDE members attend interfaith event organized by Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing.
Members of Islamic Society of Central Delaware attended the interfaith event organized by Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing at Mt.Zion AME church on November 17th 2016. Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing provides shelter and other support to more than 250 homeless men including many veterans. Members of Jewish, Christian and Baha faith also attended this event. ISOCDE along with other faith organizations donated money to the Dover Interfaith Mission during this event. ISOCDE continues to be an active member of the Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing.
ISOCDE members attend interfaith event hosted by Epworth Church, Rehoboth.
Members of Islamic Society of Central Delaware spoke at the interfaith event hosted by Epworth Church Rehoboth on October 30th 2016. Several members of the Islamic Society of Central Delaware participated in the event. Members of the Jewish community were also present during the Interfaith event. ISOCDE continues to participate in interfaith events such as this to spread the message of peace.
ISOCDE condemns terror attacks
Islamic Society of Central Delaware (ISOCDE) strongly condemns any acts of terrorism or violence against humanity. An act of terrorism against innocent people is not just un-islamic but also inhumane. Terrorism against humanity is against the scriptures in Quran as well as the teachings of our prophet Muhammad(PBUH). Our hearts go out to the victims of terrorism and their families. ISOCDE stands by the victims and their families. ISOCDE continues to work with the other faith, interfaith and charity organizations in central Delaware area to promote religious tolerance and social harmony. ISOCDE President Br. ISOCDE members attend Governor Markell's Ramadan Iftar Dinner.
Members of Islamic Society of Central Delaware attended the Governor's Ramadan Iftar Dinner on June 23rd 2016 at the Governor's mansion in Dover, DE. ISOCDE member spoke to the news media explaining how the true Islam is represented by the people who attended the Iftar and other muslims around the world who share similar values. Governor Markell stressed on the importance of inclusion and making sure everyone is welcome in our state. The Ramadan Iftar was attended by other muslim representatives from other parts of the State. U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons attended the Iftar dinner. ISOCDE thanks Governor Markell for starting this tradition in 2015 and continuing the tradition this year. Local residents visit ISOCDE to support the Islamic Community in Central Delaware
In the current environment where a lot have been said against the Muslim Americans by some of the leaders of the country, local residents affiliated to church and other organization showed support to the Muslim community in central Delaware. Local residents visited the ISOCDE's community center at Felton during the Friday Prayers on 12/18/15. Many of the guests participated in the Friday Prayer service to show their support to the Muslim community. The guests and the community members then had social event where they were able exchange their support to each other and begin a new era of friendship. ISOCDE members were overwhelmed with the love and voluntary support extended by the local residents and reciprocated the same to the guests. ISOCDE welcomes such healthy interactions which will help understanding each other and develop healthy relationship within the local communities. ISOCDE Serves Dinner at Dover Interfaith Mission Homeless Men Shelter
Members of Islamic Society of Central Delaware served Dinner at the Dover Interfaith Mission Homeless Men Shelter on 12/4/15, 12/11/15 and 12/18/15. Members cooked/catered food for the 30+ residents of the Dover Interfaith Mission Homeless Shelter. Adults & Young members of ISOCDE served food and also ate dinner with the residents. The residents and the staff at the shelter were thankful for the warm delicious food.
ISOCDE completes winter cloth drive for the Homeless men at Dover Interfaith Mission Shelter
Members of Islamic Society of Central Delaware completed a winter cloth drive for the men at Dover Interfaith Mission. ISOCDE community members donated their new and lightly used winter cloth to men at the Dover Interfaith Mission Homeless Shelter. This drive was initiated based on the request by the shelter that they had shortage of winter cloth for the residents.

Islamic Society of Central Delaware members attended the interfaith service at the Mt Zion AME Church in Dover on 11/19/15. ISOCDE imam representative Br. Ali presented the Islamic prayer for peace. Members of other faith were present during the interfaith service. Families from ISOCDE community attended the service and participated in the dinner.
